stadshuset and riddarholmen

Sunset over Stockholm on Tuesday evening.

There are few better spots in Stockholm for watching the sunset than Gondolen. This restaurant has amazing views over the Baltic Sea, Lake Mälaren and the city. It’s also the very first place that I had dinner in Stockholm. We were there again last night for drinks with friends and it was such a gorgeous evening.

In case you don’t know, the building on the left is Stadshuset or city hall. It’s the place where the Nobel Prize dinner is held. And the lacy-topped building on the right is Riddarholmskyrkan or Riddarholmen church. It’s one of the oldest buildings in Stockholm and parts of it date back to the 13th century. It’s pretty, no?
