Beating the winter funk

The Birger Jarl cruise ship.

Given how long it has been since I last posted, I think I can officially say I’ve had the Stockholm in winter funk. I’ve been tired when I get home from work. I’m doing just the usual stuff in terms of seeing friends, going to the gym and hanging out. Mostly, I’ve been content with just being at home. Cocooning. We’ve been watching Downton Abbey and the Travel Channel.

People around town are getting winter cranky. The other day as we were walking down a crowded sidewalk, an old woman hit me on the foot with her cane. Deliberately. Just because I was where she wanted to be on the path. I was not impressed. In fact, I kind of wanted to hit her back. I resisted though.

But I am starting to get itchy. I am dreaming of where I want to go. Since we went to Australia twice last year, we are not planning to go this year. I do want to go back to the US for a family wedding in July. But from there, things are wide open. I need to make plans. Stay tuned.
