Yet I was pleasantly surprised to see what a difference just 10 days makes in the amount of light per day. When I returned from the US yesterday at 4 pm it was still light outside! Just 11 days previously it was still dark when I went home from work at 4.

Definitely not an ignorant question. It is a traffic jam on the highway during the morning commute that is caused not by a car accident but simply by bright sun in the drivers’ eyes…. pretty funny huh?

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is a “sun delay”? I’ve never heard the term before and Google seems to be letting me down lol…

I think the sun delay is the most amusing traffic hazard ever. I used to think it was a peculiarly Cincy thing, but I have met other people who had them in the US.

It is so beautiful, even with the gray. And as far as winter goes, I would much rather have snow than rain. And the way the temperature is holding at just below freezing, you may still have the snow when you arrive. We have had snow in April before as well…
Enjoy the heat while you can and soak up some sun for me!

Never heard of a sun delay — I guess Toledo is just far enough north that it didn’t apply. I always was astounded by the distinctions between northern and southern OH. BTW, back to your snow post re: Cincy. I remember being so annoyed at Cincy drivers when I first moved there. Toledo is just close enough to Canada and states like MI, WI, etc. that there is a distinction about a level of “toughness” regarding winter weather (and life in general, really). We rarely closed for snow and I would imagine a sun delay would lead to laughter, as we loved finally seeing a bit of sun!
